State Rep. Justin Moed

Justin Moed was first elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 2012. He serves as Democratic Whip and is the ranking minority member of the Public Policy Committee. He also serves on the Local Government and Agriculture and Rural Development committees.

Moed began his career at the Statehouse as a doorkeeper and worked his way up to senior policy analyst before running for office. That experience gives him a practical understanding of how state government works and how to get results for the people he represents.

At the Statehouse, Moed focuses on:

  • Strengthening neighborhoods

  • Increasing access to affordable housing

  • Providing more tools to address homelessness

  • Investing in local infrastructure

  • Keeping Indianapolis and Indiana a welcoming place

  • Tackling neighborhood crime

He is known for working across party lines to find common ground, and for helping constituents navigate government to solve problems.

Moed is a graduate of Butler University and a homeowner on Indianapolis's south side, where he owns and runs an urban farm. He is active in many community groups and serves on the IU Indianapolis Board of Advisors and the White River State Park Commission.
