GiaQuinta devastated at news of FedEx shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) released the following statement regarding the mass shooting at the FedEx Ground facility in Indianapolis Thursday night:

“Waking up to the heartbreaking news of yet another mass shooting, this time in our own community, has left me and Hoosiers everywhere deeply saddened and shaken by this devastating act of violence. 

“My heart is with the families and loved ones of the eight people we lost, whose lives have been shattered by gun violence. I know that our community will give them the support and comfort they need to survive this tragedy. I am thankful to our first responders who arrived at the scene late last night and continue to work tirelessly to address this attack. 

“Gun violence is an epidemic that has ravaged our state and country for far too long. We must work together to create solutions that save lives and protect our communities from these appalling acts of violence.”
