State Rep. Maureen Bauer announces committee assignments for 2021 Legislative Session
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Maureen Bauer (D-South Bend) announced today that she has been selected to serve on three committees during the 2021 Legislative Session. The freshman legislator will serve as the ranking Democrat on the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee. She will also serve as a member of the Environmental Affairs and Judiciary Committees.
“I look forward to serving on committees that will address many critical issues Hoosiers are facing right now,” Bauer said. “After a challenging year, the Indiana General Assembly has the important role and responsibility of providing assistance to families and aid for an economic recovery.”
Currently, Bauer is a small business owner who works in sustainable agriculture, and is a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau.
“It's important that we address the increasing threat of food insecurity in our neighborhoods, strengthen our food-supply chain, protect and preserve our farmland across the state, and protect civil liberties and justice to better serve communities at a local level. I look forward to voicing the concerns of my constituents as we create more resilient communities, especially in times of crisis. I am eager to work on these issues on behalf of the residents of House District 6.”
