State Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon appointed to interim study committees
INDIANAPOLIS – State Representative Mara Candelaria Reardon (D-Munster) today announced her appointment to the following interim study committees: Legislative Council and the Space Utilization Subcommittee of the Legislative Council.
Interim study committees give lawmakers the opportunity to conduct hearings, participate in debates and take part in discussions with constituents on important issues that were identified in the previous legislative session. These findings will help inform the decision making of the Indiana General Assembly during the legislative session. Last month, the Legislative Council assigned study topics to each of the interim study committees.
“COVID-19 has shaken up Indiana from both a health and economic perspective,” Candelaria Reardon said. “This upcoming legislative session needs to be about getting working Hoosiers back on their feet and delivering real, productive solutions for our state. It's my hope that the interim study committees will help better inform the Indiana General Assembly in 2021.”
During the legislative session, Reardon has served as the ranking Democrat on the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation; and as a member on Roads and Transportation Committee and Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee.
