State Rep. Harris announces committee assignments for 2021 Legislative Session
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago) today announced that he has been selected to serve on three committees during the 2021 Legislative Session: Government and Regulatory Reform; Ways and Means; and Roads and Transportation.
Harris has served on Government and Regulatory Reform and Ways and Means for the past several years, and this will be his first year serving on Roads and Transportation.
“After five years in the House, I'm excited by the opportunity to serve on a different committee,” Harris said. “As the Crossroads of America, maintenance of our roads is incredibly important, so I look forward to doing my part to ensure Indiana lives up to its name.
“What we do with our state's budget this year will set the tone for the next two years. Combine that with the devastating effects COVID-19 has had on our state resources, and the Ways and Means Committee has a serious task ahead of it. We need to pass a budget that will support our state's recovery and that starts with supporting Hoosiers, not corporations.”
