INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Terri J. Austin (D-Anderson), in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Revenue, will host a free informational seminar on the 2015 Tax Amnesty in Anderson on Sept. 16.

The seminar, to run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 16, will take place at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St. [get a map].

“Tax Amnesty 2015 provides an opportunity for taxpayers to pay their overdue base taxes free of penalty, interest, and collection fees,” Austin said. “It includes all tax types managed by the state Department of Revenue, including individual income taxes, sales taxes, and individual income tax withholding. In addition, taxpayers who have failed to file or have underreported their tax liabilities will have the chance to file the appropriate returns and pay base taxes during this time.”

The amnesty period runs from September 15, 2015, to November 16, 2015.

“If you did not participate in the 2005 Indiana tax amnesty program, and you owe taxes for periods ending prior to January 1, 2013, it is likely that you are eligible to participate in Tax Amnesty 2015,” Austin noted. “If you have any concerns about these issues, I encourage you to come to the seminar on September 16.”

For more information about the Tax Amnesty program or the seminar, please contact Austin’s Statehouse office by calling 800-382-9842 or 317-232-9794.
