Rep. Bartlett: Save the Date for the 10th anniversary of event honoring Hoosier veterans
The date for the 10th Annual Indiana Military and Veterans Legislative Day has officially been set for 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Statehouse. This event is a great opportunity for Veterans around the state to meet with elected members of the Indiana General Assembly and discuss legislation that impacts their lives.
“For the past 10 years, I have had the honor of sponsoring Indiana Military and Veterans Legislative Day to bring our honorable veterans and active military members face to face with lawmakers,” Rep. John L. Bartlett (D-Indianapolis) said. “These brave men and women have sacrificed for the freedom of our nation. Indiana owes our servicemen and servicewomen the dignity of listening to their input on legislation to make sure that it improves their lives and the lives of their families.”
The event will be co-sponsored by Rep. Bartlett and Speaker of the House Todd Huston (R-Fishers). Veterans and members of the military will have the chance to meet with numerous legislators, organizations and agencies.
IMVLD Planning Committee Chair Lisa A. Wilken, a United States Air Force Veteran, is joined by Col. James Leonard, Retired Indiana National Guard and Stacy Dieckman, United States Marine Corps veteran as Co-Chairs.
If Hoosier veterans or their loved ones wishing to attend the event have any questions, please reach out to 317-232-9987 or [email protected].
