INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Sheila Klinker (D-Lafayette) said the State Budget Committee voted to approve use of $5.05 million for the renovation of Hampton Hall of Civil Engineering’s basement and ground floor.

The approval was made during the committee’s meeting today at Purdue University Northwest’s Westville Campus.

The work will provide an ADA-compliant entry into Hampton Hall as well as add new civil engineering teaching labs.

“Purdue’s worldwide reputation for excellence in civil engineering requires investment in the infrastructure that houses the program,” said Klinker. “I am appreciative that the State Budget Committee approved the use of funds to begin this important project.”

The project is projected to open for use by students by the third quarter of 2018.
