Macer to host Carrier/Rexnord Community Conversation on Saturday, April 8
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Karlee Macer (D-Indianapolis) will host a community conversation this Saturday (April 8) to give former workers from Carrier and Rexnord a chance to learn more about the resources available to them as they begin to look for new employment.
The conversation will run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the McClelland Elementary School, located at 6740 West Morris Street [get a map]. Joining Macer will be officials from EmployIndy, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD), the city of Indianapolis, and United Steelworkers Local 1999.
“Through this event, I hope to give these men and women who have lost their jobs at Carrier and Rexnord a chance to find out what kinds of options are available for them as they begin the next phase of their lives,” Macer said.
Officials will talk about plans to help those who have lost their jobs and describe the various resources that are available to them.
