State Rep. Sheila Klinker (D-Lafayette) today offered a resolution along with State Sen. Liz Brown (R-Fort Wayne) in honor of the Hoosier Women Artists Program. Hosted by the office of Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch in partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission, the annual event celebrates the talent of female artists in Indiana and showcases their work in the Statehouse.

“I've always believed that by supporting the arts and artists, we're able to create vibrant communities that make Indiana a beautiful place to live. I have many pieces of art created by Hoosier artists in my home, and it's a great reminder every day of the enormous talent that we have in our district and throughout the state of Indiana.

“Supporting women in the arts is especially important. It's very important that this celebration takes place during Women's History Month. Throughout history, women have taken their experiences, whether joyous or rooted in adversity, and created beautiful pieces of art which serve as a reminder for us all to reflect on our own personal journeys through life. I'm honored to have been able to celebrate the Hoosier Women Artists Program and all of the great pieces of art they are producing.”
