Hatcher celebrates INDOT’s $1M investment in Gary

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced today that the city of Gary will receive $1 million in Community Crossings Matching Grants for the spring of 2023. These funds can be used to build and improve infrastructure throughout the city.

State Rep. Ragen Hatcher (D-Gary) released the following statement today regarding the funding:

“This is incredible news for the people of Gary. Making sure you have good roads, safe sidewalks and strong public transportation is one of the first steps in revitalizing your community. This grant creates a wonderful opportunity to enhance the quality of life for Gary residents, create more jobs, and hopefully bring more people to our city. I'd like to thank INDOT for making this possible, and I look forward to seeing how our great city utilizes these funds.”
