STATEHOUSE – State Rep. Karlee Macer (D-Indianapolis) and Indianapolis City-County Councilor Marilyn Pfisterer will host the Indiana House District 92 Small Business Summit for westside business owners and entrepreneurs on Tuesday, September 9, at Ben Davis University High School, 1155 S. High School Road [get a map].
Macer said the event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. inside the Preschool Multipurpose Room. No registration is required prior to the event—just arrive with your interest and enthusiasm for building a better Westside Indy!
“This will be a great opportunity for networking and promotion for small businesses just starting out or for established businesses hoping to expand their operations in the district,” said Macer. “We have a special guest speaker named Max Brickman. He is an amazing, young, third-generation entrepreneur from Indiana University. He recently won a national business pitch competition for college students. Max will share his story and strategies for success.
“Marilyn and I plan to use this small business summit to learn how we can best serve the needs of small businesses in our districts,” continued Macer. “The event is open to anyone who owns a small business in the area or wants to start their own company. If you are unable to attend, don’t hesitate to call and let me know how I may assist you.”

Other special guests at the summit will be Doug Boehme, the regional director for the Indiana Small Business Development Center, and a representative from the Marion County Public Health Department’s Food & Consumer Safety Department will be in attendance to answer questions.
Additional resources for small businesses also will be available at the summit.
