State Rep. Cherrish Pryor named Elected Woman of Excellence by NFWL
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Cherrish Pryor (D-Indianapolis) has been named a 2016 Elected Woman of Excellence Award winner by the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL).
Pryor will be presented with the award during the NFWL’s annual conference in Orlando, Florida, in November.
A not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization, the NFWL serves as a forum for women legislators to be empowered through information and experience. The award is designed to identify women who have worked tirelessly, broken down barriers, and overcome obstacles to serve their communities. These pacesetters have helped create an environment where women can serve in public office and fight for the issues they are passionate about.
“Part of the spirit of the NFWL is that we take time to acknowledge the significant accomplishments of the women around us and we are delighted to recognize this year’s honorees,” said NFWL Chair Helene Keeley, a representative from Delaware.
The winners were nominated by colleagues and constituents from their home states, then chosen by a distinguished panel of NFWL members.
