State Budget Committee approves ISU Science Building project
INDIANAPOLIS – The State Budget Committee today gave its approval for Indiana State University to begin the replacement of the Science Building roof, according to State Rep. Clyde Kersey (D-Terre Haute).
The committee agreed to the $2,725,770 expenditure during its regularly scheduled meeting in New Albany, Indiana.
“The roof is in bad shape,” said Kersey. “The core cuts indicate it is fully water-saturated. This project is a critical one that needs to be started as soon as possible. I appreciate the attention the State Budget Committee members have given to this situation and thank them for allowing the university to proceed with the roof replacement.”
The project will include the replacement of damaged duct work, flashing, obsolete roof curbs, and transite panels. In addition, there will be roof penetrations made for exhaust purposes.
