Rep. Melanie Wright’s new Women’s Series will focus on community issues
INDIANAPOLIS – Beginning this year, Rep. Melanie Wright will be hosting a Women’s Series focusing on issues affecting our communities.
“Due to the sensitive nature of many topics, my intent is to provide a safety net of women who will hold each other up and be resources for others,” Wright says.
The first Women’s Series event will address Human Trafficking on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Millcreek Civic Center in Chesterfield.
“Judge Kim Dowling has a huge amount of knowledge in this area and will be our guest speaker,” Wright added.
“Human trafficking occurs right here in Indiana with I-65 connecting us with our neighbors. Many young people are groomed on social media and suddenly find themselves in situations beyond their control. We can begin to arm ourselves with knowledge to protect the children and young adults in our area. Ladies, please consider attending.”
