Rep. Karlee Macer hosting neighborhood resource fair on August 27
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Karlee Macer (D-Indianapolis) today invited area citizens to attend a Neighborhood Resource Fair on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Ben Davis University Media Center, 1155 S. High School Rd., in Indianapolis.
Macer said the 5:30-7:30 p.m. event will feature representatives from a variety of civic and government organizations who will answer questions and talk about various activities and offerings on the west side of Indianapolis.
“We have a saying that the ‘WEST side is the BEST side!’” said Macer, who represents Speedway, Clermont and Wayne Township on the west side of Indianapolis.
“The community is rich in opportunities for local residents and we would like to highlight what is available to enrich the quality of life for our citizens,” she added.
“In addition, my constituents often have questions about a variety of issues, like public safety and public transit. We will have officials on hand to answer questions and discuss those issues and more. I encourage everyone to attend this free event and learn about the great opportunities that exist on the west side.”
Representatives from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the West Side Chamber of Commerce, B&O Trails, IndyConnect, and the City Code Enforcement Office will participate in the fair. They will discuss and answer questions about public safety, the Far West B&O Trail, the landlord registry, public transit, internship and volunteer opportunities on the west side, Indy Gateway, Inc. development plans, and other community issues.
