Rep. Campbell calls for peace and unity after violence erupts In the U.S. Capitol

INDIANAPOLIS – State Representative Chris Campbell (D-West Lafayette) today issued the following statement condemning the actions of a pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol yesterday:

“Yesterday's events are a reminder of the fragility of our democracy,” Campbell said. “Jan. 6 should have been a day of order, where Congress convened to certify Electoral College votes and formally declare a presidential victory. However, yesterday will be remembered as a very dark day in American history. I unequivocally condemn violence in any form. It is time for us to come together in peace and unity.”
