Pursuit of civil rights protections for all is an issue that merits discussion

INDIANAPOLIS — House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath of Michigan City spoke at the microphone during Monday’s legislative session, saying the civil rights issue regarding LGBT issues is not going away.
The Indiana House Democratic Caucus will continue to discuss the civil rights issue, Pelath stated, because Hoosiers want the issue discussed.
Just because the Indiana Senate failed to properly address the issue does not mean that the Indiana House of Representatives should do the same.
Pelath noted that Indiana’s business community is concerned about the lingering negative impacts of last session’s pained consideration of the matter, as well.
