Pryor meets with Vice President Kamala Harris
INDIANAPOLIS – State Representative Cherrish Pryor (D-Indianapolis), House Democratic Floor Leader, member of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus and Treasurer of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, released the following statement regarding her meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House on Wednesday, February 23.
Pryor and members of the Executive Board of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) were extended an invitation to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss issues state legislators are facing across the country.
Harris briefed the NBCSL board on a number of issues, including: the next Supreme Court nominee, voting rights, the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act, the American Rescue Plan, broadband, strategies to address lead pipes and Ukraine.
Pryor shared information with the Vice President about Indiana’s efforts to increase voter turnout as well as challenges Indiana faces with the introduction of restrictive voting legislation.
“I was honored to have the opportunity to join my colleagues from around the country to discuss collaboration on important issues that affect Hoosiers and citizens across the United States,” said Pryor. “By joining together to work on these issues, we can leave the country better than we found it.”
