INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Cherrish Pryor (D-Indianapolis) has been selected to serve another term as the Indiana State Director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL), the nation’s oldest non-partisan organization focused on electing more women at all levels of government.

“I am honored and excited to be appointed to this position within NFWL’s leadership and to help my colleagues in Indiana learn about this great organization,” Pryor said. “This opportunity aligns perfectly with my mission to encourage more women to run for office in our state.”

Through annual educational and networking events, the NFWL supports elected women from all levels of governance. A non-profit, non-partisan organization, the NFWL serves as a forum for women legislators to be empowered through information and experience. Through regular events like the NFWL’s Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, in November, the group helps women leaders build coalitions, share the concerns of their constituents, and identify creative solutions to the most pressing issues facing their communities today.

“We are so proud that Rep. Pryor has accepted a leadership position in our Foundation,” NFWL’s 2019 Chair Serena DiMaso, a New Jersey assemblywoman. “NFWL’s theme for 2019 is leadership, and Cherrish Pryor exemplifies this theme. She will play a key role in aiding women legislators in Indiana, as we continue to grow as an organization.”

Pryor will serve as state director through the end of 2019.
