Lawson touts FREE dental health clinic for children coming up on Sunday, Feb. 22
INDIANAPOLIS – In recognition of Children’s Dental Health Month, State Rep. Linda Lawson (D-Hammond) is promoting Sharing Smiles Day this Sunday (Feb. 22). The event will be hosted by Kool Smiles to provide uninsured area children up to 18 years of age with charity dental care.
Sharing Smiles Day will take place in Highland, IN at the Kool Smiles office, 8327 Indianapolis Blvd., between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. (CST). Kool Smiles is one of Indiana’s largest providers of dental services to children covered by Medicaid.
“Many families can’t afford dental care, including regular check-ups that prevent the onset of more complicated and painful dental conditions,” said Lawson. “Good dental hygiene is learned at a young age and habitually continues throughout life. I’m thrilled that the smiles will be put back on the faces of these children by getting the care they need.
Available treatment will include dental exams, limited emergency care, extractions, fillings, sealants, baby tooth root canals, and crowns. Treatment will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Dental care offerings will be determined by the dentist.
