Lake County lawmakers receive key interim study committee assignments

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath from Michigan City today announced the interim study committee assignments for Democratic state representatives from Northwest Indiana:

STATE REP. CHARLIE BROWN (D-GARY) will serve on Interagency State Council on Black and Minority Health; the Interim Study Committee on Public Health, and Behavioral Health and Human Services; the Interim Study Committee on Public Policy; and the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

STATE REP. DONNA J. HARRIS (D-EAST CHICAGO) will serve on the County Redistricting Commission and the Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs.

STATE REP. LINDA LAWSON (D-HAMMOND) will serve on the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code; the Legislative Council; the Legislative Evaluation and Oversight Policy Subcommittee; the Lake Michigan Marina and Shoreline Development Commission; and the Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary.

STATE REP. CHUCK MOSELEY (D-PORTAGE) will serve on the Code Revision Commission; the Interim Study Committee on Employment and Labor; the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight; and the Interim Study Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs.

HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADER SCOTT PELATH (D-MICHIGAN CITY) will serve on the Legislative Council and the Personnel Subcommittee for the Council.

STATE REP. VERNON G. SMITH (D-GARY) will serve on the Interim Study Committee on Education; the Commission on the Social Status of Black Males; and the Interim Study Committee on Government.
