INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana House passed legislation today authored by Representative Terry Goodin (D-Austin) that would add two judges to the Clark circuit courts.
“Clark County courts have developed a backlog of cases throughout the years,” Goodin said. “Justice delayed is justice denied and it is our responsibility to maintain an efficient judicial system.”
Goodin introduced the legislation based on a recommendation from the 2018 Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary. The study committee found that Clark County has the highest need for additional judges due to a higher amount of caseloads.
House Bill 1155 now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
