Hatfield remembers legacy of David Rice

INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Ryan Hatfield (D-Evansville) today released the following statement in response to the passing of David Rice, the founding president of the University of Southern Indiana:

“David Rice was an altruistic leader and his passing will impact individuals across Indiana. When Rice joined the University of Southern Indiana as a dean, the school served 922 students, and when he retired in 1994 the school reached over 7,000 students. He knew the impact a good education can have on a young adult’s life and will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his students and community.”
