Hatfield honored with House resolution
INDIANAPOLIS - On Feb. 12, retiring State Rep. Ryan Hatfield (D-Evansville) was honored with a House resolution authored by House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) and co-authored by House Democratic Floor Leader Cherrish Pryor (D-Indianapolis) and House Democratic Caucus Chair Carey Hamilton (D-Indianapolis).
Representing House District 77, Hatfield was elected to the Indiana General Assembly in 2016 and serves as the ranking minority member of the House Judiciary and Employment, Labor and Pensions Committees and is a member of the House Public Health and Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committees.
Hatfield is an accomplished attorney and a dedicated public servant. During his tenure at the Statehouse, he has offered bills spanning from the elimination of textbook fees to affordable prescription costs.
This January, Hatfield announced he will not be seeking reelection.
“Rep. Hatfield's legal expertise has been a huge asset to House Democrats, the full House and Hoosiers across the state. His ability to analyze pending legislation has served the House well many times over,” House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) said. “I am saddened to lose Ryan's legal finesse and quick wit. Our caucus owes a great deal to Ryan, and I am honored to author this resolution commemorating his unwavering dedication to the people of Evansville and to the success of our state and its people.”
“I am humbled to be recognized with this resolution,” Hatfield said. “Over the past eight years, I have been privileged to work alongside other lawmakers committed to improving the lives of Hoosiers across our state. I have strived to pass legislation that would enrich the lives of Hoosiers and enact positive change for our communities. I will continue to work for the betterment of our state.”
