INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) released the following statement following a Republican press conference about the new state budget proposal and its impact on education:
“All that we just heard from Governor Holcomb and Speaker Bosma is that teachers will not be getting a pay raise this session. Republicans continue to prioritize unaccountable charter and voucher schools at the expense of traditional public schools. Despite Republican leadership claiming this is a historic increase in K-12 funding, it's clear that our traditional public schools will not receive the resources they need.”
