GiaQuinta mourns former State Sen. Dennis Neary

House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta issued the following statement following the passing of former State Sen. Dennis Neary:

“State Sen. Dennis Neary served his community in Northwest Indiana with distinction for 16 years as state senator, and his service to his community and our state extended far beyond that. When I think about Dennis, I always think about him sitting on a bench outside the House Chamber, ready to greet you with a smile and a positive comment on the day's legislative proceedings. He was a strong advocate for the causes he believed in, whether that was advocating for health care solutions or the creation of the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District. My thoughts and prayers are with Dennis' family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
