GiaQuinta: Governor is prioritizing pigs over teachers in Indiana

Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) today issued the following statement about Republican’s misplaced priorities when it comes to state spending:
“This week, my Republican colleagues have praised the fact that our state’s economy is on a roll and we have plenty in reserves – $2.27 billion to be exact. But rather than give Hoosier teachers a much deserved pay raise, the governor announced his plans to spend $300 million on pet projects, which includes building a swine barn at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It seems Republicans have misplaced their priorities when they are literally putting pigs before our educators in Indiana.”
