Committee assignments announced for NW Indiana House Democrats

INDIANAPOLIS – Here are the Indiana House committee assignments for Democrats representing Northwest Indiana:

STATE REP. CAROLYN B. JACKSON (D-HAMMOND) will be the ranking Democrat on the Select Committee on Government Reduction, and serve on two other committees: Environmental Affairs; and Family, Children, and Human Affairs.

STATE REP. LISA BECK (D-HEBRON) will be the ranking Democrat on the House Employment, Labor, and Pensions Committee, and serve on two other committees: Commerce, Small Business, and Economic Development; and Courts and Criminal Code.

STATE REP. PAT BOY (D-MICHIGAN CITY) will serve on three committees: Elections and Apportionment; Family, Children, and Human Affairs; and the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.

STATE REP. MARA CANDELARIA REARDON (D-MUNSTER) will be the ranking Democrat on the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation, and serve on two other committees: Roads and Transportation; and Utilities, Energy, and Telecommunications.

STATE REP. CHRIS CHYUNG (D-DYER) will be the ranking Democrat on the House Local Government Committee, and serve on three other committees: Financial Institutions; Roads and Transportation; and Veterans Affairs and Public Safety.

STATE REP. EARL HARRIS, JR. (D-EAST CHICAGO) will serve on three committees: Government and Regulatory Reform; the Select Committee on Government Reduction; and Ways and Means.

STATE REP. RAGEN HATCHER (D-GARY) will be the ranking Democrat on the House Courts and Criminal Code Committee, and will serve two other committees: Commerce, Small Business, and Economic Development; and the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.

STATE REP. CHUCK MOSELEY (D-PORTAGE) will be the ranking Democrat on the House Elections and Apportionment Committee, and serve on two other committees: Employment, Labor, and Pensions; and Veterans Affairs and Public Safety.

STATE REP. VERNON G. SMITH (D-GARY) will be the ranking Democrat on the House Education Committee, and serve on two other committees: Local Government; and the Select Committee on Government Reduction.
