Chyung thrilled about the release of Indiana COVID-19 nursing home data

INDIANAPOLIS- State Representative Chris Chyung (D-Dyer) today released the following statement after the state announced that it would release COVID-19 nursing home data to the public.

Chyung called on the state to release COVID-19 nursing home data back in May after an outbreak at a Dyer nursing home.

“I'm glad that the governor has finally decided to release this critical data to the public,” Chyung said. “Hoosier families were literally left sitting by the phone hoping for an update on the loved ones they've gone months without seeing. It should have never been left up to the staff, who are under immense pressure just caring for their patients, to make these calls. I thank the governor for his cooperation and his commitment to ensuring the public has access to this essential knowledge.”
