Boy helps to celebrate award-winning constituent
INDIANAPOLIS – On October 31, State Rep. Pat Boy (D-Michigan City) celebrated her constituent, Abigail Smolnicky, who won first place in the 9th through 12th grade competition to design the “I Voted” stickers for the upcoming election. Nearly 1,000 students participated in the competition, and Smolnicky and other winners were chosen by Indiana Secretary of State Holli Sullivan's office. Boy issued the following statement:
“I'm very proud of Abigail for being recognized by the Secretary of State's office for her design, and I'm very happy that Indiana students are being encouraged to think about voting. Taking part in free and fair elections is an integral part of being an American, and our cities, states and nation are only as strong as our elections are. It's great to see that our children are getting a head start on learning the important role we all play in our communities.”
