Austin retains House leadership post and is appointed to several standing committees
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Terri Austin (D-Anderson) was chosen to continue her role as the House Democratic Whip, an important position with the duty of guiding fellow Democratic Caucus members through the legislative process.
In addition, Austin was appointed to the Education, Public Policy, Insurance, and Rules & Legislative Procedures committees.
House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath is enthusiastic about Austin’s critical roles in the upcoming legislative session.
“Rep. Austin is one of Indiana’s most respected legislative leaders as well as one of the most knowledgeable,” said Pelath. “Terri’s experience, wisdom and dedication combine to be a benefit beyond description to all of us. She is a tremendous and valuable resource in addition to being one of the hardest workers in the Indiana General Assembly.
“Terri’s background will greatly benefit all of the committees to which she has been appointed.
“Indiana House District 36 and the State of Indiana are fortunate to have a great public servant like Rep. Terri Austin.”
