News & Media

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) today welcomed Vice President Kamala Harris to Indianapolis to continue conversations about protecting reproductive rights and abortion access. The visit falls on the first day of the legislative session where Indiana Republicans have introduced legislation that includes a near-total ban on abortion.

“We’re honored to welcome Vice President Kamala Harris to the Hoosier State,” GiaQuinta said. “The Biden-Harris administration deploying the nation’s top executives to the frontlines of states fighting abortion bans will serve as an effective tool to bolster morale and reaffirm the commitment to protecting reproductive rights. Indiana is facing an extraordinary moment in history, and Indiana House Democrats are ready to show up for Hoosier women.”
