State Rep. Lisa Beck
State Representative Lisa Beck was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives on Nov. 6, 2018.
Beck is ranking minority member of the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee. She also serves on the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee as well as the Courts and Criminal Code Committee.
Beck attended Purdue University Westville, earning her degree in accounting. She then earned her law degree from Valparaiso University.
After law school, Beck joined the Lake County Prosecutor’s office as a deputy. Rising from a trial attorney to the Administrative Deputy Prosecutor, Beck proved to be a strong advocate for victims’ rights and a keen administrator of public programs. She introduced a drug initiative community policing program into high-crime neighborhoods in Lake County. She was instrumental in creating the Lake County Sexual Assault Response Team to ensure that victims receive justice. In 2012 she started her own private law practice.
Beck is passionate about community service, including working with the IN Coalition Against Domestic Violence, NWI Volunteer Attorneys, Dunes Learning Center, and Junior Achievement. Most recently, Lisa founded NWI Supporting Women, an organization which seeks to encourage women to take a greater role in public service and get involved within their own communities.
Beck and her husband, Vernon, live in Hebron.
