Wright statement regarding COVID-19 outbreak at long-term care facility in Anderson
INDIANAPOLIS – State Representative Melanie Wright (D-Yorktown) released the following statement regarding the COVID-19 outbreak at the Bethany Pointe long-term care facility in Madison County, which, according to recent news reports, leaves 11 of the facility's residents dead and a few others in critical condition:
“My heart is heavy after learning about the 11 seniors who died and the others in critical condition at their long-term care facility in Madison County due to an outbreak of COVID-19. I am thinking of them and their family members who have a lot of questions and are grieving without having the chance to say goodbye to their loved one.
“I am, and will remain, in touch with State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box, Madison County Health Officer Dr. Stephen Wright and, of course, the executive director of the long-term care facility. Working together, we will address this outbreak and help keep employees, health care providers and other residents at the facility safe.”
