Smith calls on public to share legislature needs for upcoming session

GARY – State Representative Vernon G. Smith (D-Gary) is seeking public input from constituents of their bill recommendations for this upcoming session. 

“Throughout my 32 years in the legislature, I have always strived to be a representative that is reflective of my district’s needs,” Smith said. “I would like to encourage folks to directly contact me and their other local leaders to share their concerns and ideas for bills that will better our state. 

“I can’t emphasize enough how important public input is to the integrity of our democracy. Without constituent voices, we cannot have a legislature that is reflective of the values of all Hoosiers.”
