Shackleford announces interim health study committee assignments
INDIANAPOLIS - Today, State Representative Robin Shackelford (D-Indianapolis) announced her appointment to three interim study committees. These committees will meet during the summer and fall to explore important topics identified during the 2020 legislative session. Each committee has been assigned various subjects that they will study throughout the months leading up to the 2021 session.
Shackleford will serve on the following: Interagency State Council on Black and Minority Health, Medicaid Advisory Committee and Interim Study Committee on Public Health, Behavioral Health and Human Services. These committees will all focus on issues related to health in Indiana.
“I have been a strong advocate for minority health in Indiana,” said Shackleford. “These interim study committees give legislators a unique opportunity to do an in-depth exploration of topics that are important to Hoosiers.
“As we find ourselves in the middle of a pandemic, it is important now more than ever that we really focus on bettering Indiana's public health. I look forward to adapting the knowledge I gain throughout these next few months to take legislative action next session.”
