Pack issues statement following shooting at Carmel-Ben Davis football game
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Renee Pack (D-Indianapolis) today issued the following statement regarding the shooting that took place outside of the Carmel-Ben Davis football game this past Friday (Oct. 1):
“As a proud Ben Davis educator and parent of four Ben Davis graduates, I am deeply saddened and concerned by the violence that touched our community last weekend. As the Ranking Minority Member on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and Public Safety, I am committed to working on legislative solutions to provide safety for our residents and guests. Our children should be able to attend sporting events without the fear of violence.
“Seeing all of the photos our Ben Davis scholars pressing through the negativity of the night before and still enjoying their Homecoming, fills me with a sense of hope. Our community is strong and will overcome whatever challenges the future holds. I pray for the health of body and mind of our students, their families, and the young people involved in the shooting, and offer my support to the community in this time of healing.”
