Klinker assigned to interim study committees
INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Sheila Klinker (D-Lafayette) today announced she has been selected by legislative leadership to serve on five interim study committees. Interim study committees allow legislators time to research and develop legislation for the upcoming session. Each committee has been assigned various subjects that they will study throughout the months leading up to the 2021 session.
Klinker has been selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Education, Indiana Veterans' Affairs Commission, Interim Study Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs, State Fair Advisory Committee, and Indiana Commission for Women. These committees will study topics related to education, the Indiana State Fair, advancing women in Indiana, and veteran issues.
“As a former teacher, I am excited to start tackling some of the issues that our Hoosier teachers, students and schools will face as we reopen our schools after this pandemic,” Klinker said. “The Study Committee on Education will give us time to do in-depth research on the unique issue our schools will face.
“Interim study committees give legislators an opportunity to dive deep into specific topics that matter most to Hoosiers.”
