IHDC Leader Goodin: Intern with the Indiana House Democratic Caucus
INDIANAPOLIS – Are you interested in getting a real behind-the-scenes look at how the Indiana General Assembly operates? Do you want to work to build a state all Hoosiers can take pride in? The Indiana House Democratic Caucus is looking for motivated college students and recent graduates of all ages to join our team as interns for the 2019 legislative session at the Indiana Statehouse.
Not a policy wonk? No worries! We are looking for students with a diverse array of skills. All students with experience in communications, policy analysis, fiscal analysis, video production, political science and/or community relations are encouraged to apply. Prior knowledge about government is not required but it never hurts to learn more about your representatives before coming in for an interview!
Interns work full-time and are paid a biweekly stipend. While this does require students to take some time away from the classroom, academic credit is offered for those who complete the internship.
Applications for the 2019 Legislative Session are due in late October. The 2019 internship will run from late December 2018 to early May 2019. For information about the different internship positions offered and instructions on how to apply, visit the Indiana House Democratic Internship page. You can also follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to learn more and get an inside look at the program.
[Note: Internships with the Indiana General Assembly are “partisan” internships: i.e., applicants should decide if they want a Democratic or Republican internship and then apply only for that internship.]
