Indiana House Democrats protect coverage for pre-existing conditions in state budget
INDIANAPOLIS—Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) released the following statement about protecting coverage for Hoosiers with pre-existing conditions in the state budget:
“The Indiana House Democrats successfully protected insurance coverage for Hoosiers with pre-existing conditions, while Republicans rejected an amendment from State Rep. Ed DeLaney (D-Indianapolis) and instead voted in support of the Attorney General’s continued assault on the Affordable Care Act.
“House Republicans need to put their full support behind Hoosiers with pre-existing conditions by joining House Democrats in calling on the Attorney General to withdraw his support for a lawsuit that would sabotage the ACA and strip health care coverage for hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers.
“The House majority missed an opportunity today to fully protect Hoosiers with pre-existing conditions.”
