GiaQuinta pleased that Hill will face consequences for disgraceful actions

FORT WAYNE – Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta (D-Fort Wayne) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court's decision to suspend Attorney General Hill's law license for 30 days:

“While I am pleased that Attorney General Hill will finally face consequences for the disgraceful actions he committed more than two years ago, I can't help but feel this punishment is mild given the Court's finding that Hill committed battery against a legislator and multiple legislative staff. As I have stated many times before, I continue to believe that Attorney General Hill should resign from his post, given his actions and his betrayal of the public trust as Indiana's top law enforcement officer. Today's decision now leaves Indiana in a legal quagmire, where the Attorney General's ability to hold public office remains in question.

I want to thank the women who came forward to bring the Attorney General's actions to light. Without their continued bravery, I doubt Attorney General Hill would have faced any accountability for his actions.”
