Deal to serve on four committees over summer

News & Media

INDIANAPOLIS – State Rep. Ross Deal (D-Mishawaka) today announced that he has been selected to serve on the Interim Study Committees on Agriculture and Natural Resources, Employment and Labor, Roads and Transportation and will also serve on the Corn Marketing Council this summer.

The interim committees explore a range of legislative topics. At the hearings, members listen to the testimony of experts and the general public. During the legislative session, permanent committees in both chambers often consider bills based upon the interim committees’ findings.

“I'm looking forward to delving into topics like Indiana's infrastructure, food supply chain and loss of agricultural land in the coming months,” Deal said. “Working with the Department of Workforce Development to come up with creative solutions for the problems facing Hoosiers amid the COVID-19 pandemic will also be very important. There is a lot of work ahead and I'm ready to use my voice in these meetings to advocate for the interests of Indiana House District 7.”
