Chyung to host series of district town halls in June
State Rep. Chris Chyung (D-Dyer) announced today he will host a series of town halls throughout the 15th House District in June to give residents an update on the Indiana General Assembly and provide them with an advance look at the infrastructure projects planned for the area in the coming months.
In all, Chyung will host six town halls during the month, starting June 13 in St. John.
“There are two purposes behind these meetings,” Chyung said. “On June 13 in St. John and June 17 in Schererville, I will be joined by Matt Deitchley, an official with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), who will review the road and bridge projects that are planned for our area during this year’s construction season. This will give residents a chance to see what kind of improvements are on tap, and give them an idea of potential closures that might be coming through the rest of this summer.
“On four other dates – June 15 and 24 in Griffith, June 22 in St. John, and June 27 in Schererville – I will be providing a review of the work that was done during the 2019 session of the Indiana General Assembly, gauging the public’s impressions of the major issues we are facing in state government, and gaining their input on the agenda I intend to pursue during the 2020 legislative session,” he added.
