Beck hosts successful NWI Building Trades Fair at Plumbers Local 210 in Merrillville

State Rep. Lisa Beck (D-Lakes of the Four Seasons) hosted a NWI Building Trades Fair on November 21, 2019 at the Plumbers Local 210 in Merrillville, IN.  

“The goal of this event was to help folks who are skilled and experienced plumbers, electricians and carpenters learn that there are jobs out there with safe working conditions, a living-wage, and a defined retirement package,” said Beck.

“Part of my job as a state representative is to help connect people with resources in their community  and Northwest Indiana has many organizations and companies that want to help men and women working in trades succeed and prosper in their field,” she continued.

“A job is what you are working for today, a career is for tomorrow. I want to help Hoosiers working in trades to build a career that will set them and their families up for long-term success.”

Construction Advancement Foundation, WorkOne and the Plumbers Local 210 partnered with Beck for this event and will provided information about how to change a career path in trades to one with significant growth potential.

Beck plans to host more building trades fair events in the future.
