INDIANAPOLIS – State Representative Lisa Beck (D-Lakes of the Four Seasons) today announced that she has been selected to serve on four interim study committees in preparation for the 2021 Legislative Session.

Last month, the Legislative Council assigned study topics to each of the interim study committees. Interim study committees give lawmakers the opportunity to conduct hearings, participate in debates and take part in discussions with constituents on important issues that were identified in the previous legislative session.

Beck will serve on the following: Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary; Interim Study Committee on Employment and Labor; Interim Study Committee on Government; and Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight.

“The four committees I've been assigned square both my expertise and the needs of House District 19 perfectly,” Beck said.

“It's always a pleasure to be able to use my legal background to guide and inform decision making like with the Courts and the Judiciary assignment, while still engaging in my passion of advocating for working families in my other interim study committees. I'm looking forward to get back to work with my colleagues for the betterment of my district.”

During the legislative session, Beck is the ranking Democrat on the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee; and serves as a member on the Courts and Criminal Code Committee and the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee.
