INDIANAPOLIS - State Rep. Shelli VanDenburgh (D-Crown Point) announced that she will be holding legislative office hours at three locations in Indiana House District 19 on Friday, Aug. 29.
VanDenburgh will be at the following locations at the listed times (CST):
9 - 11 a.m. | Crown Point Library, Meeting Room #1 | 122 N. Main
Noon - 2 p.m. | Crown Point Library, Winfield Branch | 10645 Randolph
3 - 5 p.m. | Hobart Public Library, Downstairs Meeting Room | 100 N. Main
“As you know, I am always available and only a phone call away, but these special legislative office hours will enable me to have my legislative assistant, Keri Dattilo, with me,” said VanDenburgh.
“When constituents call, they talk with her in Indianapolis. She deals with state agencies on a daily basis so she will be helpful in addressing concerns you may have or in finding solutions to problems you may be experiencing with state government. If we are unable to solve your problem immediately, we will take the issue back to the Statehouse to get it resolved.”
“One-on-one meetings are effective in getting to the heart of a constituent’s problem and finding a solution for it,” added VanDenburgh. “If you just want an opportunity to meet with me in this informal setting, please stop by any of the locations during the legislative office hours or give me a call. I am here to serve.”
VanDenburgh said several challenges face the district and the state, including the reinforcement of schools and providing resources to educate children in a safe and productive environment. She also said affordable college education, quality health care, and safe neighborhoods as well as the increase of the state’s median household income, the providing of job training for good-paying positions, and fair taxation are all issues that need to be addressed and continue to be a focus for her.
