STATEHOUSE – Through the approval of House Concurrent Resolution 10 led by State Rep. Karlee Macer (D-Indianapolis), members of the Ben Davis High School football team were today congratulated in the Indiana House Chamber on their IHSAA Class 6A state football championship.
“I am incredibly pleased to recognize the accomplishments of the Ben Davis Giants football team,” said Macer. “Under the dedicated leadership of Coach Mike Kirschner, these talented young men have worked hard during an outstanding season, breaking or tying 24 team and individual state records.”
Bursting with enthusiastic pride, Coach Mike Kirschner also gave a spirited talk today from the House floor on his team’s athletic and educational successes. Currently, the Giants football team is ranked 20th nationally and has 11 Academic All-State players.
“These talented young people have exemplified the attitudes of success both on the field and in the classroom,” said Macer. “The team’s state championship and impressive season are the result of a combined team effort. Each member of the team, the managers, and the coaching staff should be praised for superior performance and team spirit.”
